Your UTR is a 10-digit number from HMRC that we need to progress your claim.

Enter it directly in the app on the screen that asks for it. Please add it in the app rather than sending it in chat, so it is saved securely to your claim.

If you are claiming for the first time, HMRC send your UTR by post and it can take a little while to arrive. As soon as it lands, enter it in the app, the day it arrives if you can. Nothing moves until it is in, so it is the main thing holding up your claim.

There is nothing else to do at this step. Your claim moves on automatically and we will be in touch with your estimate.
