What our fee looks like in real money (worked example)

A transparent worked example of the TaxPro fee: what we charge, when, and exactly what you receive.

The headline

Our fee for PAYE rebate claims is 37.5% of the refund, plus VAT, with a minimum fee of £45 + VAT. For CIS tax refunds (including your tax return) the charge is £220 + VAT.

It is strictly no win, no fee: if you get no refund, you pay nothing. We only ever take our fee out of money HMRC has actually paid — there is never an upfront cost or an invoice to settle. ✅

A worked example

  • HMRC refunds: £1,000

  • Our fee (37.5%): £375

  • VAT on the fee (20%): £75

  • You receive: £550, paid straight to your bank

The estimate figure shown in your account is always your take-home amount — the fee is already deducted, so there are no surprises.

Why a percentage?

It keeps our interests exactly aligned with yours: we only earn when you get paid, and the more we recover for you, the better we both do. Behind the fee sits the full service — HMRC registration and authorisation, a qualified review of your expenses, preparation and submission of your return, handling any HMRC queries, and chasing your payment through.

Where it is written down

The fee is set out in the claim agreement you sign at the start of your claim, and again on your estimate before you approve anything. If any part of it is unclear, message us here — we are happy to walk through your numbers.
